Pro Comp did not make the decision to branch out into
wheels until 2001. They had started
making their own tires in 1998 and wheels was just the next logical step for
them to take. By making both wheels and
tires, both lines would be supportive to each other. Right from the beginning, Pro Comp decided to
make both aluminum alloy and steel wheels.
This decision was based mainly on the fact that they wanted to provide
the customers with an option of buying wheels that are tough enough for the
trails while giving them a proper price range to choose from – steel is cheaper
than aluminum alloy.
When Pro Comp got its start back in 1992, they focused on
making suspension systems that would fulfill the needs of those demanding off
road enthusiasts. They then branched out
to other related areas such as shocks, tires and now wheels. That said, Pro Comp hasn’t forgotten that
they are a manufacturer of suspensions first and foremost and they continue to
push the envelope with their innovative and exciting suspension systems.

7031
Nothing looks more ready for the off road than bead lock
rims that are pinching monster meats. It
must be said though that or your morning commute or even for light trail
driving, bead locks are akin to hunting a squirrel with a bazooka – massive
overkill. However, with an 8 spoke,
split design and the black powder coated finish as well as the accent studs
that have been machined in order to provide that bead lock look, the 7031
Series wheels give you that off road style you crave in a package that is
commuter friendly.
Like every alloy wheel that Pro Comp makes, this wheel
has been cast using a low pressure, high tech casting system. They are made from chunks of aluminum alloy
that are aerospace grade. By using this
particular material in conjunction with the casting technique, you get a wheel
that is lightweight yet ultra-strong.
For the ultimate style, they have been finished with a powder coat in
flat black.
These wheels are perfect for high performance SUVs and
trucks. They feature a very high offset
so that they can accommodate most big brake kits. They come in a variety of sizes, spacings,
bolt patterns and offsets so that they will be a perfect fit for most brake
setups and tire sizes. To top it all
off, the matching center caps are included and the wheels are covered by a
lifetime warranty on the structure as well as a 2 year warranty for the finish.
Take a quick look at these wheels and you will instantly
see why dealers have a hard time keeping them in stock.
